Introduction:

If installed and maintained as per the conditions and instructions given in the enclosed technical manual, the regulator is not a source of specific danger. In particular, under normal operating conditions, the device only rarely emits inflammable substances such as to generate an explosive atmosphere. The air/gas ratio regulator can be installed solely on horizontal pipes and with regulation cap facing downwards. Keep to the gas flow direction indicated on the body of the regulation valve. The device must be fitted onto the system with suitable tools to be inserted into the hubs of the in and out holes. It is strictly forbidden to fit the regulator by levering on the sleeve of the top cover. A suitable gas filter must be installed upstream of each system. Make sure that the pipes are clean and aligned so that the regulator is not su bject to stress.
Ensure the installed regulator is not touching plastered walls.Check that the regulator is suited to the intended use. The impulse intake for the control air connection (threaded hole G¼") should be connected, via copper pipe with diameter of not less than 4 mm, downstream of the air regulation elements with distance from them normally equal to 5 times the diameter of the pipe.

GENERAL FEATURES

 

The task of the GAVR ratio regulators is to maintain the air/gas ratio constant and to regulate the pressure to the burners. The ratio valve allows the pressure to be regulated continuously and gradually with high precision over the entire range of values at outlet. The by-pass screw built into the regulation system is for managing the minimum gas flow with continuous regulation without the need for replacing differently
drilled screws.
 The ratio regulator is driven by the pressure received from the air feed line. It regulates the outlet gas pressure with the control air pressure with a ratio of 1:1. The flow is thus completely managed via the air regulation device.
Any variations in flow due to the operation of the burner produce the same effect both on the gas and air pressure, thus maintaining the ratio constant.
GAVR's high capacity for regulation is guaranteed by the compensation diaphragm on which the inlet pressure acts and by the springs that exactly offset the weight of the shutter system, ensuring maximum sensitivity.

 

SETTING

The outlet pressure calibration is regulated by turning the adjusting pressure, and clockwise
to increase it. This regulation must be made with the air control line connected and burner operating.
In order for the device to operate correctly, the minimum difference between inlet and outlet pressure must be above 20 mbar whereas the maximum difference must be lower than 150 mbar.
 The pressure pipes upstream and downstream of the regulator and on the control air line (fig. 1-2) allow to measure the relative pressure levels .so that the device can be easily cal brated. The screw (fig. 1-2) for calibrating the device minimum load is built into the regulation system. For correct regulation, completely unscrew in an anticlockwise direction until the screw locks mechanically - in this position
there is no minimum gas flow. Slowly tighten the screw (fig.1-2) clockwise until the required value.

MAINTENANCE

Ratio regulators do not require any maintenance. In the event of a fault, a general overhaul and relative test are recommended on the manufacturer's premises.
